The Coate family has specialized in willow cultivation since 1819. They produce and process their own raw materials allowing them to select only the best willow rods, ensuring consistently high quality charcoal. Their charcoal is non-compressed and burned from rods left in their raw, round shape and diameter. The end result is a very soft and velvety charcoal that has a beautiful deep black hue, which is especially favored by artists.
