The 4" diameter Speedball Baren is ideal for proof printing. Designed for hand printing, it can be used with wood carving blocks and rubber stamps. The paper is lain face down over the inked block so the almost frictionless rubbing surface glides easily over the back of the paper, allowing the printmaker to freely vary the pressure applied and evenly transfer the desired image onto paper. Available in durable nylon or more economical plastic (the infamous "Red Baron").
