Artisan Water Mixable Oils were developed to look and behave like traditional oils without the need for hazardous solvents. The key difference is that Artisan has the unique ability to be mixed amd thinned with water. Within Artisan's formulation, the linseed and safflower oil vehicles have been modified to accept water when added, which creates a stable emulsion while retaining the working characteristics of conventional oil color - colour depth, consistency, lightfastness, opacity/transparency and drying times are all comparable. Ideal for artists who don't want hazardous solvents in a shared a studio space, the classroom or at home. Colours include: Cadmium Yellow Pale Hue, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Fremch Ultramarine, Phthalo Green (blue shade), Yellow Ochre and Titanium White.
